The Director of Patient Financial Services is responsible for provides senior-level management to the operations of hospital revenue department.The position directs activities of patient registration, financial clearance, third party billing, patient billing, insurance and patient liability follow-up, cash posting and customer service. It provides technical and change management expertise to improve various revenue management processes within hospital. The incumbent works closely with other revenue functional areas including reimbursement, payer negotiations and contracting, utilization management and coding. They also manage vendor relationships for patient collections, bad debt management and other activities as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Plans, directs and evaluates the management of timely and accurate preparation and submissions of all the Agency’s programs’ claims to appropriate pay sources in order to ensure consistent cash flow.

Plans, directs and evaluates the management of timely and successful follow-up of all outstanding account balances.

Oversees and is accountable for an established closing schedule and all other established guideline/policies and procedures to facilitate billing timeliness.

Plans, directs and evaluates the utilization of accounts receivable reports to monitor account balances and establish priorities for collection activities.

Plans, directs and evaluates posting and reconciliation of third party payments received.

Ensures the maintenance of appropriate billing records to meet legal and regulatory requirements.

Analyzes and approves applications for Charity Care and Reduced Rate Agreements.

Prepares and analyzes statistical reports, forwards to executive management as directed.

Reviews and analyzes, researches, implements and monitors regulation and contract changes that affect the agency billing system and billing/reimbursement procedures and coordinate with vendor and other departments as required.

Provides guidance to supervisory personnel in the hiring of subordinates.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in business or related field. Masters degree preferred. CPAM, CRCR Certification(s) highly desirable.

Five years supervisory experience with patient accounts or other revenue cycle functions.

Working knowledge of registration, hospital billing, collections, revenue cycle and HIM regulations.

Experience working with PC based software programs.

Experience with management of computerized billing systems.


Title Certified Surgical Technician

Salary $38,000 – $66,000 per year
Location Operating Room

The Surgical Technician is under the general supervision of Registered Nurses, physicians or other surgical personnel assist in the preparation and care of surgical patients ranging from infancy to geriatrics.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for the cleanliness of the horizontal surfaces and lights in all OR prior to surgery.
Responsible for setting clocks and turning on warmers in the OR.
Assist in transporting patients from Nursing Units and Recovery Room.
Demonstrate and practice a good understanding of sterile technique.
Perform sponge, needle and instrument counts in an accurate manner
Assist team in placing patients on operating table also positioning patients and in skin preparation by holding extremities.
Observe patients vital signs, check charts, and assist the surgical team with putting on sterile gowns and gloves.
Responsible for passing instruments and other sterile supplies to surgeons and surgeon assistants during surgery.
Assist in lifting and transferring patients from operation table to stretcher.
Assist in preparing ambulatory patients for operation room.
Initiating clean up and turn-over of the surgery room.
Performs other duties as directed.

Required Qualifications:
High school or equivalent. Completion of a Surgical Technician Program.
Possess and maintains certification as a Certified Surgical Technician.
Current BLS Certification.
Must be willing to take calls as instructed by Head Nurse.


Title Telemetry Technician

The telemetry technician is responsible for performing high quality provide specialized advanced technical skills in all technical aspects of the telemetry monitoring system per the department policy.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Operates and troubleshoots all functions of the telemetry monitoring system

Admits, transfers, and discharges patient and enters all required information in telemetry monitoring system.

Reviews trends and adjusts alarms.

Obtains rhythm strips.

Interprets EKG rhythms.

Performs related duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of EMT – Intermediate or Vocational Nursing program or Graduation of an approved allied health sciences program or One year related experience.


Title Mother Baby Unit Registered Nurse

Location Mother Baby Unit (L&D, NICU, Post Partum, & Peds)

Registered Nurse works under the general supervision of the Head Nurse. Provides professional care and coordinates care with other disciplines.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement programs, safety, environmental and infection control standards.

Writes initial nursing histories, assesses patient’s condition and develops individual care plans for patients.

Evaluates outcomes of patient care, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care plans as necessary to ensure optimal patient care.

Maintains patient documentation, to ensure accuracy of patient medical treatment.

Assists physician with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.

Performs other related duties.

Required Qualifications:
Must possess a current Virgin Islands license as a Registered Nurse (or ability to obtain endorsement license)

Graduate of an accredited A-A Degree in Nursing Program. BSN preferred.

Must have two years of professional nursing experience in the adult inpatient care setting is required.

Must possess and demonstrate a high degree of leadership, organizational ability, and communication skills.

Current BLS certification is required. ACLS preferred. *Additional certifications required.


Title Director of Rehabilitation Services

This position provides the overall management of physical therapy services. The Chief organizes and conducts medically prescribed physical therapy programs in the Hospital to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepares work schedules, assigns personnel, evaluates work performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions. Provides training and monitoring of work performed.

Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement programs, safety, environmental and infection control standards.

Plans physical therapy program for each patient including exercise, massage, heat, water, light and electricity. Applies diagnostic and prognostic muscle, nerve, joint, and functional ability tests.

Establishes policies for safety and ensures adherence to safety procedures in the use of physical therapy equipment and the handling of patients.

Performs other job related duties.

Required Qualifications:
Doctorate degree from accredited Physical Therapy Program.
Minimum of three years in Acute Care Setting.
PT License and registration in the USVI required or the ability to obtain license.
