Position Summary

Plans, directs, and monitors the activities and operations of the Maintenance department including grounds maintenance and facility construction and renovation. Coordinates assigned activities with other divisions, departments, and outside agencies; provide highly responsible support to the Facilities Division.  Additionally, the Supervisor of Maintenance provides the daily leadership of select patient services and facility support units to exceed the expectation of the patients, their families and JFL’s team members and physicians.

Position Responsibilities/Duties

  1. Meets maintenance operational standards by contributing maintenance information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems.
  2. Meets maintenance financial standards by providing annual budget information; monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions.
  3. Evaluates functionality and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by conferring with operating departments; identifying problems and requirements.
  4. Maintains function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by implementing a preventive maintenance program; operating and testing systems and equipment; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts.
  5. Improves function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by studying performance results; identifying, recommending, and implementing changes, expansions, and additions.
  6. Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal codes and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

  1. Minimum requirements a High School Diploma with (5) to (7) years of facilities management or construction experience in building construction management, facilities management, and or project management.
  2. Certification  in Facilities Management, Building Construction, and Engineering, Architecture or related field preferred
  3. Effective written, verbal and presentation communication, and computer skills required.

Position Summary: The Head Nurse must provide general supervision, organization and direction to the work of the Medical & Surgical Units and programs; coordinate staff to assure that effective nursing services are provided, and quality standards are met; develop and maintain an environment that supports the professional nurse and staff.

Position Responsibilities/Duties:

  1. Assumes responsibilities for coordination of patient/family centered care by ensuring daily staff huddles, RN/Physician rounding and attendance at weekly multidisciplinary plan of care meetings.
  2. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, staff meetings, in-services, workshops, and successful completion and maintenance of required certifications.
  3. Assumes responsibility for coordination and delivery 24/7 nursing care on designated unit(s) calling for productivity hours.
  4. Ensures compliance with Federal and Territorial regulatory agencies including the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
  5. Demonstrates ability to evaluate and determine levels of nursing care with respect to collective bargaining agreements and JFL Human Resources Policy and Procedures.
  6. Acts as a community resource for services and information to patients, families and physicians.
  7. Demonstrates knowledge of age specific care, including but not limited to, identifying the need for additional safety measures, physiological normal values/readings; and assessing skin integrity, behavior, motor skill and activities that place patients at risk.
  8. Ensures quality patient care and patient flow as a strategic initiative using bed board forum
  9. Performs other duties as assigned or required

Qualifications:

  1. Must possess a current VI license as a RN and have graduated with a Bachelor of Science from a Nursing Program or evidence of continuing education towards requirements
  2. Two years experience in Nursing Administration with evidence of continuing education relative to the job specifications
  3. Must possess and demonstrate a high degree of leadership, organizational ability, and communication skills
  4. Knowledge of adult inpatient care management, policies, budgeting, personnel management, and census development is required.
  5. Current BLS (ACLS, PALS, and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (or related course) certification is preferred
  6. Utilizes the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for nurses with Interpretive Statements as the foundation for nursing practice.

Provides a safe and secure environment for patients, employees, and visitors; protects hospital buildings, assets, and premises as assigned. Under the general supervision of the Director of Security Services or his designee, an employee in this class performs security work in accordance with written and verbal instructions, which allow some use of discretion during the performance of work. Work is performed on a rotating shift basis and involves the patrolling of hallways, grounds and security entrances, intercepting visitors, verifying identification and the determination of safety hazards.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement programs and safety standards.

Patrols hospital buildings and premises to prevent threats, fire, theft, vandalism, and intruders.

Monitors visitors, staff and patients while on hospital premises; confronts unauthorized persons for questioning as needed.

Reports safety issues, concerns, fire hazards and security violations.

Responds to inquiries for advice, guidance or assistance from hospital personnel, students and visitors.

Provides assistance in restraints of behavioral health patients and unruly visitors/staff, in accordance with training.

Participates in investigations; maintains records and other documents pertinent to security activities.

Secures and/or unlocks perimeter gates, offices doors and facilities exits.

An employee in this class is required to perform janitorial and related duties, many of which may require exerting physical strength. The employee is usually assigned to the housekeeping section to perform a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways and other assigned areas of the hospital. Work is reviewed by the Housekeeping Supervisor other supervisory personnel upon completion of assignments for compliance with instructions given. Work requires an ability to learn specific tasks rather than prior experiences.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  1. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, improvement performance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  2. Dusts furniture, woodwork, equipment and dust mops’ floors.
  3. Polishes & cleans fixtures in utility rooms and bathrooms.
  4. Operates mechanical floor cleaners, polishers and vacuums; damp mops rooms, halls, stairways and public areas.
  5. Remove refuse and trash from nursing units to garbage storage bins; assist with loading & unloading and moving of supplies and small equipment on the ward.
  6. Cleans vents, fans and other equipment using vacuum machines.
  7. Cleans fixtures, top of windows, door frames and high areas using a ladder.
  8. Gather and disposes of trash and waste materials including biological waste; Buffs, strips, waxes, and polishes floor.
  9. Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors, and walls of bathrooms.
  10. Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings; Attends meetings as required.
  11. Changes curtains as needed.
  12. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Some experience as a janitor or other work involving performing cleaning services. Prior experience in an acute care facility preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY

These individuals’ performs procedures and examinations in a hospital or clinical environment in the treatment of patients. The work involves the operations of radiologic and film development, as well as the cleaning and disinfecting of equipment.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  1. Prepares room, equipment, medicine and material needed for the patients.
  2. Cleans and disinfects X-Ray equipment. Assures that sterile supplies, contras materials or other required equipment are present and lay out.
  3. Prepares patients for X-Ray; explains procedures, transfers patients to table, and positions them.
  4. Adjusts equipment, determines proper voltage and desired exposure time; arranges immobilization ad support devices to obtain proper position of patients; adjust lead shield and select appropriate film.
  5. Maintains records of patients examined, examinations performed, views taken, and technical factors used. 

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    1. High school or equivalent and completion of a two (2) year or longer training program in diotherapeurtic technology which has been approved by the American Society of Radiologic Technologist, or the American Medical Association.
    2. Professionally registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. .
