GOV. JUAN F. LUIS HOSPITAL WELCOMES FIRST BABY OF 2024

FIRST BABY OF THE NEW YEAR IS BORN AT JFL

ST CROIX -USVI, JANUARY 3, 2024 – On January 1, New Year’s Day 2024, Shenice Santiago and Gabriel St. Kitts welcomed the first baby born in St. Croix.

Baby St. Kitts arrived at approximately 6:42 a.m. on January 1, at Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center weighing 7 pounds 1 ounce. He was born to parents Shenice Santiago and Gabriel St. Kitts. Both are beyond excited to welcome their new baby.

Ms. Santiago recalls this moment as a “wish come true” as Baby St. Kitts made his way in the early morning of New Year’s Day without the scheduled labor induction. When asked for a statement regarding her experience giving birth at JFL, Ms. Santiago replied, “The nurses were very supportive and made it really easy with the preparations and breathing techniques.” Mr. Gabriel St. Kitts also shared that the nurses were very attentive to their needs. Both parents are extremely happy for a healthy baby.

Small gifts and donations were presented to the family on behalf of the hospital and other community partners such as Sonya’s, Premier Baby Store, Liquidation Blowout Store, Golden Circle #373, Mrs. Barabara Gene Browne, and Dr. Michelle Berkeley.
