Last week, Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital & Medical Center (JFL) proudly hosted representatives from First Source, kicking off a major Revenue Cycle Improvement Project. This strategic partnership represents another important step in JFL’s ongoing mission to strengthen financial sustainability while continuing to deliver compassionate, high-quality, and equitable healthcare to the St. Croix community.

The revenue cycle is at the heart of hospital operations. It ensures that every service provided is accurately documented, billed, and reimbursed. By partnering with First Source, JFL is investing in a more efficient, transparent, and patient-centered billing experience. This initiative will enhance workflows across registration, coding, billing, and collections, leading to improved financial health and better service for patients.

This project is part of a joint effort with Schneider Regional Medical Center (SRMC), as both hospitals work collaboratively with First Source to align best practices and strengthen revenue cycle performance across the territorial hospital system.

Throughout the kickoff week, teams across JFL engaged with First Source representatives in interactive sessions. Together, the teams will implement best practices designed to ensure timely reimbursements, reduce claim denials, and strengthen overall financial performance across the organization.

This project is part of JFL’s broader commitment to operational excellence and long-term sustainability. Strengthening the revenue cycle directly supports the hospital’s ability to reinvest in staff, technology, and patient care—further advancing JFL’s mission to serve the people of St. Croix with excellence.

Stay tuned as we share progress updates on this transformative partnership.
Together, we’re building a stronger, more resilient JFL, because great things are happening here!
